Lenovo introduces its ThinkPad 8 in India

Lenovo has launched its ThinkPad 8 for the Indian customers. The tablet will be selling at a price of Rs 39,999 and is exclusively available through TheDoStore.

It is the first ever Windows 8 tablet from ThinkPad and it claims to delivers a full PC experience with USB3.0 Dock.

” The introduction of ThinkPad Tablet 8 makes our tablet range more diverse to cater to the business user for the first time. We are excited to extend the ThinkPad legacy to our tablets range.” said Rohit Midha, director, Lenovo India.

The tablet sports a 8.3 inch WUXGA display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution.  it is powered by an Intel Atom Processor Z3770.

It runs on Windows 8.1 Pro 32-bit and has 2GB RAM. The Intel HD Graphics in processor, supports 1080p video out via Micro-HDMI, HDCP-compliant.

The tablet also boasts an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera with 64GB inbuilt memory. The audio s powered by Realtek ALC5672 codec.

On the connectivity front it has 4G, Bluetooth and WiFi. It is juiced by a 20.5 Wh Lithium-polymer battery with a standby time up to 17 days and web browsing with flash up to 8 hours.

Lenovo also recently announced the launch of the S580 smartphone at Rs 8,999. Lenovo has teamed up with the online marketplace Snapdeal for the launch.

The device sports a 5 inch HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor.

The phone has a compact and lightweight design that comes with laser-etched fabric-feel rear cover.

The dual SIM device runs on Android Jelly Bean, but it can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

It sports a 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera with 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable to 32GB via microSD card.

It also comes loaded with Lenovo Premium DOit Apps that lets users transfer data, speed up their device, and sync contacts.
