iPad Air 2 and Mini 3 to hit Indian market on November 29

Apple iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 sales will begin on November 29 in India. Both the devices were launched in October.

E-commerce channels Infibeam and Flipkart have started taking pre-orders for both the Apple tablets.

iPad Air 2 is 18 percent thinner than iPad Air and measures 6.1mm. The screen size remains same at 9.7-inch, but now boasts of anti-reflective laminated coating that reduces glare by over half.

iPad Air 2 16GB Wi-Fi will be selling at a price of Rs 35,900 while the 64GB and 128GB are priced at Rs 42,900 and Rs 49,900 respectively.

For iPad Air 2 WiFi + 3G users will have to pay more, 16GB will be available for Rs 45,900 whereas the 64GB and 128GB will be selling at Rs 52,900 and Rs 59,900.

iPad Air 2 sports an improved Retina display for enhanced contrast. It also has a Touch ID fingerprint sensor button and gold colour option.

The device is powered by a A8X chip with second-generation 64-bit architecture and 40% faster CPU and also has an M8 motion co-processor.

The iPad Air 2 now has an 8MP iSight camera instead of the 5MP camera in previous version and a 1.2MP Facetime HD camera.

The tablet claims to provide 10 hours of battery life and comes with many improvements over its predecessor.

iPad Mini 3 on the other hand has not seen many improvements over its predecessor. It is essentially the same as iPad mini 2 barring the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and gold colour option.

iPad Mini 3 16GB WiFi is priced for Rs 28,900 while the 64GB and 128GB will be selling at Rs 35,900 and Rs 42,900 respectively.

For 16GB WiFi + 3G users will have to pay Rs 38,900 and 128GB WiFi + 3G will be available for Rs 52,900.

With the launch of iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, the prices of last year’s two Apple tablets have come down in India.
