Xiaomi teases new smartphone, could be Redmi 5

Xiaomi is all set to bring new smartphone in the Indian market. During the launch video of Xiaomi Mi TV 4A, the Chinese tech giant has teased a new smartphone.

The phone is said to be Redmi 5, which is scheduled to launch on March 14. Notably, the company has launched Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro last month in India.

It is worth mentioning that the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus was earlier launch in China, last year. The Redmi 5 comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 720 resolution. It has a metal unibody design.

The entry-level smartphone runs on the 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The phone comes in two variants in China 2GB RAM+16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM+32GB storage.

In terms of OS, Redmi 5 runs on the Android Nougat on top of MIUI 9. The device sports a 12MP rear camera with 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. On the front, phone marks 5MP camera with also the LED flash. The phone has 3,300mAh battery and comes in Black,  Gold, Light Blue and Rose Gold color options.
