Xiaomi sells over 3 million smartphones in India


Mi India has announced that the company has sold over 3 million smartphones in the country. The company sells its devices online through Mi.com and through partners including Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, The Mobile Store and Airtel.

The company sold out one million devices in December 2014. Xiaomi is the fifth largest smartphone company in India with 4 percent of market share.


Xiaomi first launched its flagship Mi 3 in India in July 2014, now company’s portfolio includes Mi 3, Mi 4, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi Note, Redmi Note 4G, Mi Pad, Mi 4i and Redmi 2 Prime, as well as other accessories such as Mi Band, Mi Power Banks and Mi Headphones.

Soon the company is expected to launch its new flagship Mi5 in the Indian market.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to feature 5.2” QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 mobile chipset, 3GB of RAM, up to 64GB storage, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing unit, and 3,600 mAh battery.

The previous offering from the company was the Mi4i smartphone.

It sports a 5-inch 1080p full HD display with a sleek unibody design. It is powered by Snapdragon 615 second-gen 64-bit 8 core processor at 1.7 GHz clock speed, which has been created by Qualcomm.

It also features 4G dual SIM slots with a 13 mega pixel (MP) front and 2 MP rear camera.
