Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Y2 smartphone in India on June 7. The phone is the successor of Redmi Y1, launched last year.
The Redmi Y2 comes in two variants, 3GB RAM+32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM+64GB storage at Rs 9,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively. The device will be an Amazon exclusive and available starting June 12.
Talking about the design of Redmi Y2, it has discreet separation lines on the top rear side with the brushed metallic finish. The handset features a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 720×1440 pixel resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.
Xiaomi Redmy Y2 has a fingerprint sensor as well as a face unlock feature. The smartphone runs on the MIUI 9.5 based on Android O.
The Y2 is said to be a selfie-centric smartphone. It features an AI-powered 16MP front-facing camera with Super Pixel technology, HDR and Beautify 4.0. The phone also has selfie light, which produces a 4500K color temperature to take selfies in low-light conditions. On the back, the device has a dual camera setup with 12MP+5MP sensors with AI Beautify 4.0 feature.
It will be available in gold, rose gold and dark grey. The phone packs a 3080 mAh battery.
