Xiaomi has recently teased with the launch of a new smartphone in India. The company has confirmed that they will launch Redmi 5 on March 14. Now, the reports are suggesting that the device will be Amazon exclusive in the country.
Xiaomi’s Global VP and managing director of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain had recently posted a tweet regarding the launch with the caption, “Be happy. #CompactPowerhouse is coming! It is super slim and sleek. Stay tuned. 3 pm @ 14th March!”
Talking about Redmi 5, it was earlier launch in China alongside with Redmi 5 Plus, last year. The handset comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 720 resolution.
The budget smartphone runs on the 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The phone comes in two variants in China 2GB RAM+16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM+32GB storage. Redmi 5 marks a 12MP rear camera with 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It is priced at Rs 5,999.
It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi reportedly becomes the number one smartphone company in India in terms of sales With a Q4 2017 market share of 26.8%.
