Xiaomi has launched their flagship smartphone, Mi 8 in China on May 30. The Xiaomi Mi 8 debuted with three variants, 6GB/64GB for Yuan 2699 (around Rs 28,500), 6GB/128GB priced at Yuan 2999 (around Rs 31,500) and 6GB/256GB costing (around Rs 35,000). The handset is available in white, blue, gold and black color options.
It is worth mentioning that the company has also unveiled a special variant, Mi 8 Explorer Edition with additional features like- under-the-display fingerprint sensor, and 3D face recognition. It carries an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and priced at CNY 3,699 (around Rs. 39,000).
The Xiaomi Mi 8 features a notched 6.21-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 and 2248 x 1080 pixels. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
In terms of optics, the flagship sports a dual rear camera with 12MP + 12MP sensors featuring wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens with f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. The front-facing camera marks a 20MP sensor with Face Unlock feature.
The phone is powered by a 3400 mAh battery. The company has also unveiled MIUI 10 OS, 75-inch Mi TV, Mi VR Standalone and Mi Band 3 smartband at the same event in Shenzhen.
