Samsung is reported to launch a flip version of the flagship device, Galaxy S6 Clamshell. The new device recently cleared the TENNA certification.
The device is reported to feature a 64bit octa core Exynos 7420 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
It is equipped with 16MP camera capable of recording 4K videos and a 5MP front facing shooter, as seen on the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Clamshell comes with a smaller 3.9 inch SUPER AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels – which is slightly higher than HD (1280x720p). Moreover it comes with alpha-numeric or T9 keyboard.
The device will run on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 out of the box. The device weighs at around 206 grams and measures at 120.4×61.5×15.1mm.
The chances of device coming to Indian market is quite less.
Earlier, the company launched its Z3, a Tizen-based budget smartphone, in India.
Samsung Z3 comes with a new rewarding platform called My Galaxy, which extends personalized exclusive deals and offers to consumers.
Samsung’s partnership with Mix Radio has also equipped Z3 with entertainment service. Users will have access to thousands of curated mixes from a catalogue of over 30 million songs.
Ultra Data Saving mode offers up to 40 percent mobile data savings and up to 50 percent longer standby time.
Samsung Z3’s 5-inch HD screen, powered with Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology delivers 40 percent more colour and 100 times better contrast ratio versus normal TFT LCDs.
The device is equipped with an 8 megapixel rear camera with a F2.2 aperture. The 5 megapixel front-facing camera offers advanced selfie capabilities.
