Samsung Galaxy J6 launched in India to beat Redmi Note 5

In an attempt to gain market share in the budget-to-mid range smartphone segment, Samsung has launched the Galaxy J6 in India. The phone comes in two variants, 3GB RAM/32GB storage priced at 13,990 and 4G RAM/64GB storage at Rs 16,490.

In this price range, Galaxy J6 will face the biggest competition from Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 series.  The phone is available on Flipkart, Paytm Mall, Samsung India E-Store, and Samsung retail stores.

Talking about specs and features, Galaxy J6 features a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display with 720 by 1480 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Notably, the screen is not curved in shape as it is in other Samsung high-end smartphones. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with Mali-T830 MP1 GPU and 3GB or 4GB RAM. The device runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo-based TouchWiz UI.

The dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with a f/1.9 aperture and an 8MP front-facing sensor with a f/1.9 aperture. The camera has features like HDR, Night Mode, Panorama, Beauty, and Stickers.

The smartphone is available in Blue, Black and Gold colors. It carries a 3,000mAh battery, which takes around 90 minutes to fully-charge the handset.
