OnePlus 6 has been an instant hit for the company this year. The flagship has set a benchmark for many Smartphone makers to equal its pricing and specification standards. The phone has dominated the market due to its strong pricing strategy combined encompassing features.
But, hold there, the dominance of OnePlus 6 is about to get challenged by Asus ZenFone 5Z. The Chinese company has recently launched its flagship in India. Asus has priced 5Z Rs 5000 less than its rival. The pricing begins at Rs. 29,999 and has the same RAM and storage capacity as that of OnePlus 6. Let’s do a comparative analysis.
Both the phones boast glass and metal bodies with fingerprint sensors. The OnePlus 6 has an upper hand when it comes to protection of phone from water, which the ZenFone 5Z lacks. Both the devices win it with their appropriately placed buttons like volume rocker and power button. OnePlus 6 comes in Silk White, Midnight Black, and the new Red Edition, while its rival has Meteor Silver and Midnight Blue color options.
Overall, both the handsets look premium but OnePlus 6 has better design and of course don’t forget its physical slider, which gives it an extra edge over its competitor.
Display and specifications
Both handsets are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC that puts them on equal grounds. The base variants of both the phones consist of 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The top model of both the phone offers the same RAM and storage.
These flagships do not have wireless charging support. Also, ZenFone 5Z comes with stereo speakers which the OnePlus’ device doesn’t have. The 5Z also has a hybrid dual slim slot and expandable memory, something that is amiss in the other one. The ZenFone comes with a Zen Ear Pro headphone, while OnePlus 6 has its own Bullet earphones.
Talking about the camera, the handsets sport the dual-rear camera. The Zenfone 5Z’s camera has a lower resolution standing at 12MP compared to 16 MP offered by OnePlus 6. On the front, both the phones sport an 8MP sensor but Asus takes the game here with its wide angle lens. In the camera department, it is difficult to decide the winner.
The batteries of both the phones when fully charge last the entire day and we can see them having equal footing here.
Asus ZenFone 5Z scores better on pricing front considering that it offers almost similar specs and features compared to OnePlus 6. If one is looking to get the best out of Rs 30,000 budget, ZenFone 5Z could be the best option.
