Micromax Unite 2 gets Android Lollipop OS update

Micromax has announced that the company will be rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Unite 2 smartphone from April 7.

Micromax also announced that it has sold over 1.5 million units of the Unite 2 since its launch last year, selling 3 units per minute. This makes it one of the top 5 bestselling mobile phone in the Indian handset industry.


The Unite 2 was the world’s first phone with 21 languages support. The update on Unite-2 will be rolled out via OTA (over the air) and users can follow a simple process to get the updates on their devices .

When connected to the internet, users will get a notification on their handset wherein they can directly upgrade to the latest OS.  Users can also check manually for the upgrade from the following path, Setting->about phone->software update.

The first time buyers of Unite 2 will get pre-loaded Android 5.0 Lollipop on their devices and will be available across retail channels at a price of Rs 6,299.

The Unite 2 comes with a 4.7-inch IPS display (800 x 480). It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and has a 2000 mAh battery. It also comes with many pre-installed apps like Micromax’s Mad, ToyStory Smash it and more.

The device has expandable memory up to 32 GB and comes with a 5 MP rear camera with flash and a 2 MP front camera. It comes some useful features like panorama and beauty mode.
