HTC U12+ might be HTC’s only flagship smartphone this year

HTC is reportedly only launching HTC U12+ as a top-end smartphone this year. The reason behind company’s this strategy is not clear yet. Furthermore, the sources on this matter also suggest that U Play or U Ultra series smartphone will also not be launched in 2018.
On the other hand, it is worth mentioning that HTC has recently launched two new smartphones, Desire 12 and Desire 12 Plus in Europe.

Talking about the specs and features of the HTC U12+, it is tipped to mark a near bezel-less design. The flagship might sport a 6-inch LCD panel with a WQHD+ resolution. On the processor front, it could sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chip.

The handset is likely to carry 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB internal storage. HTC U12+ is expected to run on the Android Oreo out-of-the-box.

The high-end device is further speculated to carry a dual rear camera with 16MP + 12MP sensors and 8MP camera on the front. In terms of pricing, HTC U12+ is rumored to cost less than Samsung Galaxy S9. The launch date of the phone is not announced by the company.
