Gionee has announced plans to set up more than 750 service centers across India by March 2015.
The development is part of the Chinese smartphone vendor’s strategy to strengthen its Authorized Service Center network India to target a wider audience. Currently the company has 400+ service centers in India.
Gionee is currently the No.2 GSM smartphone vendor in China. It aims to become the top smartphone vendor in India in the next five years, surpassing major competitors like Apple and Samsung.
In fact Gionee doesn’t view Apple as its direct competition as the later focuses on premium devices. Samsung is a tough competitor though, it admits.
Gionee started its operations in India in early 2013. Within nine months of its operations, its India business generated impressive revenues of Rs 250 crore. Gionee is performing well globally too. The brand started global operations in 2002 and now has presence in 40 countries. It now strives to become top 5 smartphone vendors in the world.
By expanding the service network to Tier I, II & III cities, Gionee will be able to deliver high quality service, reliable processes and uniform user experience, the company said in a statement.
Arvind.R.Vohra, head – Gionee India, said, “At Gionee, it has been our constant endeavor to provide all our customers a 360 degree experience from the time a product has been bought. While our emphasis is on delivering best in class products always, we have laid equal emphasis on providing top class service right from the time we started business in India.”
Gionee Service Centers are manned by a team of expert technicians and service advisors specially trained on productivity enhancement techniques to deliver quality service in the shortest possible time, company officials said.
