Asus has launched the ZenFone Ares in Taiwan. It is priced at TWD 9,990 (around Rs. 22,500) in the country.
The phone is said to be made especially for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences. Notably, ZenFone Ares has a lot of similarities with ZenFone AR in terms of specs and features, which was launched in India last year at Rs. 49,999.
Asus ZenFone Ares features a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with 1440×2560 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.0 expandable storage. The handset runs on the Android Nougat on the top of ZenUI.
The device sports a SonicMaster 3.0 Hi-Res Audio 384 kHz audio decoder, and supports DTS Headphone with 7.1 surround.
The handset carries a 23MP camera on the back with an f/2.0 aperture and powered by the Asus’ high-res PixelMaster 3.0 technology. The camera is also capable of motion tracking and depth sensing for AR three-dimensional effects. The front facing camera comes with an 8MP sensor.
The phone bears a 3300mAh battery, which supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. Stay tuned for more tech news and updates.
