Xperia E is a little-bit curved so that it could come in our hands perfectly. It is only 11mm thick and weighs 115.7g. On the front, a small Sony logo is placed below the call-speaker. At the below, there are three Android keys- back, home & menu along with the microphone. A silver lining runs around the walls of this smartphone. There is a USB port at the left side.
There is a nice LED light at the bottom which lights up when the phone is locked or when the walkman app is running. The color of this light changes when you change the phone’s theme or play a different song.
The volume and power buttons along with the camera button is situated at the right side. The camera button acts as a camera-app shortcut as well capture button. To use it as a camera-app shortcut, press it until you feel a slight vibration. But it is very hard to press.
Sony Xperia E is provided with a plastic-matte back cover. It is available in three colors- black, white and pink. At the back sits a primary camera with a shiny XPERIA logo below it. Xperia E’s loudspeaker is situated at the back-bottom.
Sony Xperia E has a 3.5-inch TFT capacitive-touchscreen and multitouch upto 2 fingers. After using Xperia E for some time, I brought it under bright light, and then I got the results. The display which is protected by a scratch resistant glass also acts as a fingerprint magnet. The fingerprints remained on its screen even after two days.
The three keys slightly vibrate when touched and they sometimes light up. Xperia E’s smooth and responsive screen lets you work on it with your gloves on.
The Sony Xperia E is packed with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1 GHz Cortex-A5 CPU, this smartphone is mainly for people who don’t use it heavily. Xperia E is one of the smartphones by Sony with the Timescape UI.
Xperia E has 7 themes based on their colors and many wallpapers including the live ones. Pre-installed apps include OfficeSuite, Walkman and Sony Select. It has 4GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB) and 512MB RAM.
Xperia E comes with only four types of screen locks- Slide, Pattern, Pin and Password.
Last but not the least; it comes with the Google Play Store to personalize your phone with more than 7, 00,000 apps and games.
Camera & Battery
Xperia E has got a 3.15MP primary camera but front camera is absent. It has some features including the sports scene, night scene, 2sec and 10sec timer along with geotagging. Sadly there is neither LED Flash nor the Panorama feature.
It is fueled by a Li-Ion 1530 mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia E is sleek and handy smartphone for Rs 8,280. But you could check out other smartphones under Rs 10,000 including Nokia Lumia 520 and Micromax Canvas 2.
