ZTE Blade series crosses 20 million units mark

Sales of ZTE Blade series devices have crossed 20 million units mark worldwide. The first ever device of the series was launched in September 2010.

This is the first time that a smartphone series by a Chinese vendor has reached the 20 million mark.

The Blade series of smartphones are feature rich and are available at affordable prices. These phones are sold in 60 markets globally.

The ZTE Blade V880 was the first phone of the series and has sold almost 13 million units worldwide. Other smartphones in the series have sold over 8.6 million units.

The company also entered the 4G category with the launch of Blade Vec 4G. It sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.25 GHz quad-core processor and carbon fiber case.

The company aims to reach the 100 million users base of Blade series devices. The ZTE Blade series has a good market share in Europe, South East Asia and Latin America markets.

The Blade Vec 4G was ranked number one bestseller in a Q3 2014 GfK report, and has also proved popular in other markets across Europe, such as France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Belgium and Greece.

Other devices in the Blade series have also been acknowledged through awards and recognition worldwide.

In addition, ZTE has many strategic partners worldwide such as the Orange and Wind mobile carrier. Now,  the Blade Vec 4G represents a product of ZTE’s strong relationship with Google and Qualcomm Technologies.

ZTE also revealed its Grand S II smartphone at a price of Rs 13,999 for the Indian market. The device will be exclusively available through the e-commerce channel Amazon.in.

The Grand S II sports a 5.5 inch multi-touch and full HD screen display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a quad core CPU coupled with 2GB RAM.

It is juiced by a 2500 mAh battery and boasts a 13 mega pixel rear camera, 5 mega pixel front camera with 16 GB storage upgradable with extra 32 GB.

Grand SII LTE is packed with one unique security option that enables users to unlock their handset with their voices, using a phrase of their choice.

The device was launched alongside Blade Vec 4G at Gittex Shopper Autumn 2014. At the event, ZTE also announced its partnership with Global Distribution FZE as the exclusive distributor of ZTE smartphones in the UAE.
