Xiaomi Redmi Note to launch in December for Indian customers

Xiaomi is planning to launch its Redmi Note phablet for Indian Customers in December. Xiaomi’s budget smartphone Redmi 1S got a huge response from the Indian users.

Xiaomi India’s Facebook page recently announced a contest with the Redmi Note as the prize.

In order to win the contest, users have to submit a picture or a drawing and comment on how much they want to own a Redmi Note. The most creative image will win the Redmi Note as a prize.

Hugo Barra, head of Xiaomi earlier this month said that the company plans to launch the phablet in India soon.

Manu Jain, head of India operations, Xiaomi has confirmed the same to the media and said that Redmi Note will be available in December 2014.

The Redmi Note boasts a 5.5 inch 720p IPS display and is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor paired with 2GB RAM.

The device sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera with a internal storage capacity of 8GB which can be extended to 32GB via microSD card.

The phablet is fueled up by a 3100mAh battery and will be priced at Rs 9,999.

No official date of the launch has been revealed, but the phablet is expected to hit the shelves in the first week of December.

Earlier the company launched its Redmi 1S smartphone at the price of Rs.5,999. Redmi 1S also followed the flash sales strategy like the Mi 3.

It is a Dual SIM smartphone which boasts a 4.7 inch 720p IPS display with Gorilla Glass 2 protection.

It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor paired with 1GB RAM.

The smart phone sports a 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1.6MP front camera with 8 GB internal storage which can be further extended to 64 GB via micro SD card.

The Device supports Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 skin on top and Dirac technology for sound enhancement.

It is fueled up by a 2000mAh battery. connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0.
