Philips to launch S398 smartphone in India

Philips is expected to launch its Philips S398 smartphone in India. The company has listed the phone on its official website.

Philips is yet to announce the official price of S388, which will be the successor to Philips S388.

The phone does not have any outstanding features.

The latest smartphone sports a 5 inch HD IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.

The device is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582M processor paired by 1GB RAM.

The dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It measures 143.7 x 71.1 x 9.65mm, and weighs around 170 grams.

The Philips S398 boasts an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus and a 2MP front camera with 8GB of internal storage capacity which can be expanded to 32GB via microSD card.

On the connectivity front it has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, and 3G (WCDMA). It is fuelled by a 2040mAh battery which claims to deliver up to 8 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 4 hours of talk time on 3G.

Earlier the company launched Philips I908 in October. The device includes a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.

It sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with16GB inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
