OPPO R5 smartphone soon to launch in India

OPPO has announced the launch of its latest OPPO R5 smartphone for the Indian customers. The device will be available in the stores by the end of December.

The device was launched on October 29 in Singapore. The price for Indian market is not yet announced, but is expected fall under 25k-30k price bracket.

The phone has a very sleek design, measuring only 4.85mm. It is the world’s thinnest smartphone.

The device sports a 5.2 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 paired with 2GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

It has a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

The phone has 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a5MP front facing camera with 16GB internal memory. There is no external memory card slot.

On the connectivity front it has WiFi, Bluetooth and USB. It is juiced up by a non-removable Li-Po 2000 mAh battery.

The company also launched N3 smartphone at a global launch event in Singapore two months back. It is claimed to be the first smartphone to  have an automated swivel camera.

N3 is priced at a price of $649 featuring a 16MP rotating camera. It can rotate 206 degrees and is capable of taking 64 megapixel high resolution images using its free-stop and multi-angle shooting features.

The OPPO N3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU backed up by 2GB RAM. It sports a 5.5inch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
