Mobiliya and Wham! partners to launch new smartphones

Mobiliya has announced its partnership with Wham! Mobiles to launch new smartphones in the Indian market. These new smartphones will be cost effective and will feature essential specifications.

The new smarphones will have features such as antitheft protection, parental control, location tracking and child mode amongst others.

The devices will be powered by a 1.2 GHz mobile processor. The phones sport 4/5inch AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) displays.

The company claims that the phones have a strong battery life with built-in 4GB memory. The new line-up includes Wiry W1, WK41, WD38 and the WK44 Wham! devices.


The Wham! devices sports a 5MP fixed focus camera with 640 x 360 pixel resolution and uses Glass Solution and IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology. These phones run on the latest version of Android. The connectivity options include 3G, WiFi, Bluetoothand GPS.

“Consumers now look for choice when it comes to technology and design, and with each new product we release Wham! aims to deliver a complete and refreshed user experience in order to become the preferred brand among our target users.” said Subhash Chandra, managing director, Wham! Mobiles.

The phones boasts features like AntiTheft, a safety-net feature enabling precise location and control of lost or stolen phones, which provides capability to access the device, retrieve information and subsequently lock or wipe the device clean.

The Child Mode enables free and safe browsing for children, giving parents privacy protection with its childproof and child-friendly controls.

The Map Me app is a geo-location app that tracks the location of friends or family of the user.  Wham! devices also allow users to play a virtual single- and multi-player puzzle game, Picture It.

The company says, the devices were developed as a result of the emerging need for affordable smartphones and targeted to the middle and lower socio-economic segment.

The Wiry W1, WK41, WD38 and WK44 are all now available through all major retail channels in India.
