Lenovo unveils S580 smartphone for Rs 8,999

Lenovo has announced the launch of the S580 smartphone. The device has a sleek design and is priced at Rs 8,999. Lenovo has teamed up with the online marketplace Snapdeal for the launch.

The device sports a 5 inch HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor.

The phone has a compact and lightweight design that comes with laser-etched fabric-feel rear cover.

The dual SIM device runs on Android Jelly Bean, but it can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

It sports a 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera with 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable to 32GB via microSD card.

It also comes loaded with Lenovo Premium DOit Apps that lets users transfer data, speed up their device, and sync contacts.

Priced at INR 8,999, the Lenovo S580 will be available for pre-order exclusively on Snapdeal from today.

Lenovo also unveiled the VIBE X2 smartphone in November. It is the world’s first layered smartphone and is selling at Rs 19,999 exclusively through Flipkart.

VIBEX X2 is the first smartphone to be launched in India after completing Lenovo’s deal with Motorola Mobility. The device is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6595m processor paired 2GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with Vibe UI 2.0.

On the connectivity front it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. It is fueled by a 2300mAh battery.

Lenovo also introduced click-on accessories called Vibe Xtensions for the Vibe X2, including the Vibe X2 Battery and Vibe X2 Speaker.
