LAVA has announced the launch of Iris Win1, its first Windows based smartphone. The device is priced at Rs 4,999 and will be available exclusively through the e-commerce channel Flipkart.
This phone marks the entry of the brand into the Windows phone market which covers 10% overall smartphone market in India. The company said, it aims to fulfill the requirement of consumers looking for a windows phone for long hour usage. It will go on sale starting 4th December.
The Iris Win1 sports a 4-inch WVGA TN display and features G+F, 2-Point Touch panel and sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient Light Sensor.
The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad core processor coupled with 1GB RAM.
It runs on Windows 8.1 OS and has dual SIM capabilities and supports 3G connectivity.
The device sports a 5MP Auto Focus BSI+ sensor back camera with LED flash and 0.3 MP front Camera with internal storage capacity of 8GB and expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
The Iris Win1 is fuelled by a 1950 mAh Li-Ion battery and on the connectivity front it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB.
It comes with a Flip Cover and screen guard inside the box along with other standard accessories like charger, Earphone, USB Cable and user manual.

LAVA has also become the largest feature phone company in the Quarter ending September 2014. It is now no. 2 company in the overall category in the Indian market.
The company imported a total of 5.3 million feature phones which makes it no. 1 company in case of shipments as compared to other Indian handset manufactures including Karbonn with 4.6 million & Micromax at 5 million shipments.
LAVA is investing approximately Rs 500 crore to set up its own manufacturing unit in India over the next couple of years. This is company’s move to grab hold of more market share in India.
The company also has partnership with Google and will be launching Android One devices, designed & developed in house, in Q1 of next year.
