Finnish smartphone vendor Jolla has made its Sailfish OS based smartphone for Indian customers exclusively through the e-commerce website, Snapdeal. The smartphone is priced at Rs 16,499.
The Jolla smartphone was announced in May and went on sale in November.
The device sports a 4.5-inch IPS qHD display with 540×960 pixel resolution. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
It is powered by a by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM.

Jolla smartphone boasts an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera with 16GB internal memory which is further expandable to 64GB via Micro SD card.
The smartphone runs on Sailfish OS, which featured in Nokia N9 smartphone. The Sailfish OS features button-less, gesture-based navigation.
It is fueled up by a 2100mAh Li-ion battery with a standby time up to 500 hours and talktime up to 10 hours.

The Jolla smartphone also introduces a combination of hardware and software innovation, called “The Other Half”. By attaching specifically designed smart covers, the smartphone changes its colours, fonts, sounds, profiles, and applications.
Another feature of the Jolla smartphone is that it is Android apps compatible, which will users to run their favourite Android apps in addition Sailfish apps on their Jolla phone.
Jolla was founded by a group of ex-Nokia employees who were involved with the development of MeeGo-based devices at the company.
