ASUS India today sent mailers saying its Zenfone 6 does not bend — taking on Apple that faced criticism for supplying bending iPhone 6 Plus devices.
On Thursday, Apple admitted that at least nine customers had complained about a bending iPhone 6 Plus.
Apple is facing tough time though it sold a record 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus during the first phase of booking.
Besides facing bending issues, users of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus could not make or receive calls and text messages or go on the internet away from Wi-Fi signal.
The update for the iOS 8.0.1 operating system killed off the Touch ID function, a much-trumpeted feature that allows users to log on to their phone using their fingerprint.
It prompted Apple to take the unusual step of withdrawing the software completely, rather than issuing a fix.
It is the second major issue with Apple’s latest mobile phones, which cost between £539 and £789.
