Xiaomi Mi A1 started getting Android 8.0 Oreo in India

Xiaomi Mi A1 has started receiving the latest version of Android, 8.0 Oreo. Notably, it becomes the first smartphone in India to have Oreo with the price tag of under Rs. 15,000. The update is about 1GB and it also features December Android security patch. Users can download it with the help of information published by the company on its Mi forum.

The update is expected to come up with the improvement in battery life, new emojis, designed settings menu, notification dots and much more. According to India Today Tech, the update might also bring fast charging technology.

Xiaomi has recently launched the Mi A1, a mid-range smartphone. It came with the stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The device marks 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1080×1920 resolution. It has rear dual-lens camera setup with the combination of 12MP +12MP sensors and 5MP snapper. On the storage front, the handset features 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The smartphone sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip. It is powered by 3,080mAh battery and currently available for Rs. 13,999. Overall, Mi A1 is a value for money device. Stay tuned for more tech updates.
