Strontium may unveil Rs 99 microSD solution by year-end

Strontium Technology today said it is likely to unveil Rs 99 microSD solution for the Indian consumers by the end of this year.

“This would be an entry level solution with 2GB storage and we would launch it by the end of this year.  The current price is Rs 120 but we are confident of unveiling it at Rs 99 as the rupee strengthens,” Vivian Singh, President and CEO, Strontium Technology said on the sidelines of the launch of Nitro Plus series of microSD and SD cards.


Nitro Plus microSD cards offer a speed of 60-85 Mbps and are available in 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB memory capacities, priced at Rs 1,449, Rs 5,379, and Rs 9,499, respectively.

The Nitro plus series come with Ultra High Speed class 3 specification for 4K ultra HD high resolution standard. The cards can be fit into any device with 4k2k support such as smartphones like Acer LiquidS2, LG G Pro 2, Samsung Galaxy Note-3, Samsusung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2, Oppo Find 7a, cameras such as Canon Eos, C500, JVC, among others.

The company is targeting revenues of Rs 750 crore by 2015 while this year it is expecting to clock revenues of Rs 500 crore from the country.
