MediaTek is said to be the pioneer in the AI department. The company has recently held a partner forum on advancements in smartphone artificial intelligence. The forum has been joined by the likes of Facebook, Google, and Realme. The company has announced that it will bring AI capabilities in its affordable mobile chipset.
T L Lee, General Manager, Wireless Communication, MediaTek, said: “The future of AI-enhanced devices is dramatic and the potential is yet to be fully realized.”
The open markets are a bane for MediaTek as it enables them to make products for the masses. Vivek Joshi, Head of Android Partner Engineering (India) from Google mentions that the Neuro Pilot arena of MediaTek will help influence the AI competence in partnership with Google Android neutral network. This implies that the developers will be working on combining the Android NN API across the Media Tek Platform. Facebook India Mobile Partnership Manager Ajay Chhabra mentioned that the role of Media Tek in Open Neutral Network will be crucial for AI and its fruition.
The organization recently announced the launch of a new chip named ‘Helio P2’ chip. The chip intends to imbibe extravagant and technologically superior benefits to the mid-range smartphones in India. Prior to the launch of Helio, the company introduced the P60 chip that was embraced by the Indian customers in form of OPPO and VIVO devices. Their handsets were well accepted and their sales went up north.
With P22, the company intends to up their game by giving unique customer experience with better features and connectivity. The firm expects that their addendum boosts the sale of handsets thereby enabling them to grab a huge share. The company is strategically planning to keep its costs low and engaging in bulk production.
The chips will be available by the end of the second quarter.
