LAVA appoints Sanjeev Agarwal as chief manufacturing officer

LAVA International has appointed Sanjeev Agarwal as chief manufacturing officer.

The latest appointment is line with LAVA International’s strategy to start a manufacturing unit in India. Earlier, media reports suggested that LAVA may look at acquiring the manufacturing plant in Chennai from Nokia.


Recently, Samsung and Spice announced their investment plan to boost manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh. The Union government – headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi – is aiming to boost Indian manufacturing sector.

“Sanjeev brings around 24 years of rich experience of working in the operations / manufacturing sector which will help in augmenting LAVA’s manufacturing capabilities and also focus on starting domestic production of LAVA’s mobile devices in India,” said Hari Om Rai, chairman and managing director, LAVA International.

Before joining LAVA, Sanjeev has worked as a ead of Operations with Lite-On Mobile for four years and as general manager (Operations) with Moser Baer India for three years. He has also worked with companies like Celetronix India, LG Electronics, Sony India and Calcom Vision.
