Free calling and messaging app provider LINE will offer India specific content shortly.

Its main priority will be localizing the Official Accounts and stickers based on the culture of each country and region.

The company on Tuesday said it achieved 5 million users in India. Globally, it has crossed 200 million users.

The milestone in the Indian messaging app market is achieved around 3 weeks of its official India launch, making it one of the fastest growing apps in India. LINE was launched in India on 1 July 2013.

LINE growth strategies

LINE aims to achieve 10 million users in India in a few months.

The app provider is also observing rapid growth in user numbers in new regions, such as India and the Philippines in Asia, Spain in Europe, and Brazil, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina and Peru in South America.

The Android version of LINE has exceeded 100 million downloads from Google Play on July 18, 2013. To date, only 26 of all the apps available on Google Play have managed to pass the 100 million download checkpoint, and only 12 of these are services and apps not provided by Google.
