Bangladesh phone shipments in Q3 2014 rose 108 percent quarter-on-quarter and 16 percent on year-on-year to 7.9 million units, said CMR.
Sales of Smartphones grew more than three times on yearly basis.
Smartphone vendors sold 1.6 million smartphones in Q3 2014 registering an annual growth of 220 percent and quarterly growth of 1.6 percent.
The number of feature phones sold in Bangladesh was 6.4 million, growing at 6.4 percent on quarter-on-quarter and 2 percent on year-on-year basis.
Symphony Mobile is leading the Bangladesh mobile handsets market with 36 percent share in terms of unit shipments. It has 53 percent share in smartphones segment.
Symphony Mobile, Walton and Maximus are the local brands, while Nokia and Samsung are the Tier 1 international brands with significant presence.
