Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c to land in India on 1 November

Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available in India on 1 November, the devices major said on Wednesday. Both the smartphones will be launched in India on October 23.

More than a dozen countries including Mexico are also getting access to the much hyped costly smartphones.

On 25 October, Apple will launch iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in Italy, Russia, Spain and more than 25 additional countries.

The company is yet to disclose the price of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in India.

The entry of two costly smartphones is aimed at tapping the Diwali festival season.

iPhone 5S

iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c buyers at an Apple retail store will be offered free Personal Setup service, helping them customize their iPhone by setting up email, showing them new apps from the App Store and more, so they’ll be up and running with their new iPhone before they leave the store.

Customers can learn more about iOS 7 and their new device through new free workshops at all Apple retail stores worldwide.

Both iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are currently available in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.

On September 23, Apple said it sold a record-breaking nine million new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models, just three days after the launch of the new iPhones on September 20.

In addition, more than 200 million iOS devices are now running the completely redesigned iOS 7, making it the fastest software upgrade in history. Demand for iPhone 5s has exceeded the initial supply, and many online orders are scheduled to be shipped in the coming weeks.

Both phones received several criticisms from telecom research agencies for lack of innovation.

Meanwhile,  Apple intends to introduce its latest line-up of iPads on October 22. New versions of the iPad, which will go up against Inc’s latest Kindle Fire tablets and other gadgets made by Samsung Electronics, are expected to feature lighter, thinner designs and more powerful processors.
