Nokia X comes with free 500MB 2G/3G data from Airtel

Nokia, in partnership with Bharti Airtel, has launched an exclusive offer that gives Nokia X users 500MB of free 3G data per month for three months.

Customers in non-3G circles can enjoy the same benefit on 2G data, Nokia said.

Nokia launched the Android-based Nokia X series of smartphones in India early March. Nokia X, the first in the series, is offered for a price of Rs 8,599.

Nokia X is the entry-level model in the family. It is a dual SIM phone powered by 1GHz Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor. It also supports third party apps including BBM, Plants vs Zombies 2, Viber, Vine and Twitter.

Nokia X features 4-inch LCD and 800 x 480px screen, 512MB RAM, expandable storage of 32GB via a SD card, 3MP camera, no front camera, dual SIM, 115.5 x 63 x 10.4mm, battery standby of up to 28.5 days on 2G and up to 22 days on 3G, talk time on 2G up to 13.3 hours and up to 10.5 hours on 3G.

The new offer is part of the strategy from Nokia and Airtel to attract more mobile Internet users. The free data package will enable customers to make the best use of the Nokia X device while also giving an opportunity to Airtel to popularize their data services among new customers.

Post exhaustion of the 500 MB of data, charges at 3p/10KB (10p/10KB in 2G circles) will apply. The offer is available only on the first SIM inserted in a new Nokia X device by existing or new Airtel customers. The offer can be availed on new devices bought until June 30, 2014.

Nokia has also announced 50 percent discount on Coloud POP WH-510 headphones. The in-ear headset will be available at INR 999/- for consumers buying Nokia X between 10th Mar ’14 and 30th April ’14, the company said.
