Gionee Elife S5.5, the world’s slimmest smartphone, priced at Rs 22,999

Gionee India has priced Gionee Elife S5.5, the world’s slimmest smartphone, at Rs 22,999.

The Chinese mobile phone vendor announced the official launch of Gionee Elife S5.5 in February at the Mobile World Congress 2014, in Barcelona.

Main features of Gionee Elife S5.5 include sleek metal frame, 5.5mm thin, 130 gram weight, 5-inch full-HD (1920 X 1080p) Super AMOLED Plus display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection,  1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP 95 degree ultra-wide angle front camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Gionee’s Amigo UI and 2,300mAh battery.

Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Gionee Elife S5.5 comes in Black, White, Pink, Blue and Purple colour variants.

Gionee during a press meet in Goa said the company shipped 24 million phones in 2013 out of which 1 million phones were shipped to the Indian market. It has set a target of shipping 35 million units globally and 6 million phones in India, in 2014.

Vivo X3, sporting a thickness of 5.75mm, Huawei Ascend P6 with a thickness of 6.18mm and Sony Xperia Z Ultra with thickness of 6.5mm are some of the slimmest smartphones.
