Aircel, Micromax, MediaTek in deal to push mobile Internet in India

Micromax, India’s second largest smartphone manufacturer, has partnered with mobile chip maker MediaTek and telecom service provider Aircel to drive data growth and improve the mobile ecosystem in India.

Commenting on the partnership, Vikas Jain, co-founder, Micromax, said, “While MediaTek supports us with the hardware, Aircel offers customized offerings for consumers to get a complete, affordable and seamless data experience across the country.”

Aircel will introduce a range of offers on Micromax smartphones which will be almost equal to the cost of the phone, Micromax said. The first pack of offers will be available across 4 Micromax devices – MMX 377G, Funbook Mini 410i, A090 and X070.

Meanwhile, the MediaTek – Micromax partnership will focus on the product design and performance to create a win-win ecosystem for Indian users.

The products and services will be available across the retail outlets across the country from April, 2014.

Micromax now focuses on providing seamless solutions to customers using their smart devices, so they can concentrate their efforts on products and services which act as solutions to the needs of the fast-evolving customers, Jain added.
