Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro: A smartphone worth buying

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro alongside with Redmi Note 5 in India on February 14. The device comes with top-notch specs and features at its price segment.

Redmi Note 5 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. The AnTuTu score of the device is 109,692, which makes it the fastest Xiaomi smartphone ever.  Notably, the chip comes with Kryo cores, which generally features in high-end smartphones. The phone has two variants 4GB and 6GB (DDR4X) RAM with 64GB internal storage.

The handset bears 5.99-inch full HD+ with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. The phone runs on the massive 4000mAh battery.

One of the highlights of the smartphone is its camera. It sports dual-rear camera, 12MP primary sensor with a f/2.2 aperture and a 1.25-micron pixel size, while the secondary sensor is of 5MP with a f/2.0 aperture and 1.12-micron pixel size. On the front, the handset marks a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with LED selfie light. The camera also has a Beautify 4.0 beautification feature, which works great on the selfie pictures. Overall, Redmi Note 5 Pro is perhaps the best camera smartphone in its category.

The phone is priced at INR 13,999 for 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant and INR 16,999 for 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant. In the end, we can say that Redmi Note 5 Pro is one of the best mid-range smartphones available in the market with a great camera, processor, and the battery.
