Micromax Canvas Juice A77, a 3G smartphone, is available at a price of Rs 7,999 in the Indian mobile phone market.
Though Micromax, the second largest smartphone vendor – based on shipments – in India, is yet to officially announce the launch of the new budget phone, Indian online retailer HomeShop18 is taking orders.
The new budget smartphone with 5-inch display with 854x480p resolution will come with a free gift certificate worth Rs 1,000 and Airtel freebies worth Rs 12,000.
The main specifications of the Canvas Juice A77 include 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM 4GB internal storage, external storage support via microSD card up to 32GB, 5MP rear camera, and a VGA camera in front and 3,000mAh battery. Its 3,000mAh battery offers talk time of up to 10 hours.
Connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB.
Micromax has 19.7 percent market share in the Indian smartphone space in the July-September quarter of 2013. Samsung, the market leader, has 33.9 percent share. Karbonn is in the third position with 9.5 percent smartphone market share.
The India smartphones market during July-September 2013 saw a rise in shipments by 10.9 percent over the July-September 2012 number, taking the contribution of smartphones to 17.6 percent of total mobile handset shipments during the period July-September 2013.
