Computex 2014: ASUS brings new converged devices

At Computex 2014, ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih launched a range of new devices including Transformer Book V, Transformer Book T300 Chi, Zenbook NX500, RT-AC3200 802.11ac Wi-Fi router, and Fonepad and MeMO Pad Series.

Transformer Book V

Transformer Book V, a five-mode, three-in-one converged laptop that features a Windows and Android laptop and tablet as well as an Android smartphone. Its design comprises a laptop with a detachable 12.5-inch screen that becomes a separate tablet and a 5-inch smartphone that docks into the tablet.

Transformer Book V includes a full QWERTY keyboard and touchpad, and runs both Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4 KitKat.

The laptop features a IntelCore processor, 12.5-inch HD IPS display, Windows 8.1, storage of up to 1TB for apps, documents, media and more.


Transformer Book V works as a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet and an Android 4.4 KitKat tablet when the phone is docked. Switching between the two systems only takes a tap on the screen. Its built-in storage of up to 128GB offers plenty of room to store those apps along with movies, photos, music and more.

As a phone, Transformer Book V runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and is the world’s first 5-inch LTE smartphone powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor. Transformer Book V comes with a 2500mah battery that provides up to 10 hours of web browsing time.

Transformer Book T300 Chi

ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi is a detachable notebook that comes with the world’s thinnest 12.5-inch tablet display.

Transformer Book T300 Chi features LTE support and is equipped with a 2560 x 1440 WQHD IPS display for stunningly detailed visuals.

ASUS Fonepad and MeMO Pad Series

Fonepad 8 is an 8-inch tablet with 3G connectivity and phone functionality, 5.06mm bezel, HD1280 x 800 IPS display, 72.2 percent screen-to-body ratio, 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 1.8GHz quad-core processor, etc.

MeMO Pad 7 features 7-inch, Android, 5-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera 64-bit Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor (up to 1.86GHz).

ZenbookNX500 Ultrabook

Zenbook NX500 is powered by Intel Core i7 quad-core processor and up to NVIDIAGeForceGTX 850M graphics and supported by 2GB of GDDR5 video memory.
