Cheaper Nokia Asha 230 and Nokia 220 for first-time Internet users

Nokia has introduced new mobile phones for people experiencing the Internet for the first time.

Nokia Asha 230 is priced at EUR 45. The device will be rolled out immediately across Asia-Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.

The new Nokia Asha 230 is a full-touch mobile phone built on the Nokia Asha software platform featuring Fastlane and access to popular social apps like Line, WeChat and WhatsApp.


One swipe up from the lockscreen activates the Nokia Asha 230’s camera, and one touch enables people to share images to their favorite social network.

In the upcoming software update for Nokia Asha 230, Nokia will introduce 7GB of free cloud storage on Microsoft OneDrive, and the option to automatically back up photos to the cloud.

The device is available in single and dual SIM variants.

The second phone, Nokia 220, is the lowest priced, data-enabled dual-SIM phone from Nokia, the company said. Retail prices for Nokia 220 start at EUR 29.


With its 2.4″ color screen, dust- and splash-proof keypad, the Nokia 220 is ideal for people on the move and who want to enjoy the benefits of Internet.

Nokia 220 comes preloaded with Facebook and Twitter. It also includes Nokia Xpress browser. Nokia 220 will be available for sale immediately in single and Dual SIM variants and rolling-out in Asia-Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
