Smartphone vendor ZTE today unveiled Grand S II for a retail price of Rs 13,999 in India.
The Chinese smartphone maker has launched Grand S II at e-commerce channel Amazon .in. The new device will be available from today. ZTE is not part of India’s top 5 smartphone list, which is still dominated by Samsung.
ZTE Grand S II has several rivals in the Rs 13,000 to Rs 17,000 price bracket.
The main competing smartphones include Micromax Canvas Nitro at Rs 13,395, Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 at Rs 16,699, Samsung Galaxy Prime Rs 14,498, Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ at Rs 14,999, HTC Desire 616 at Rs 14,844, Asus Zenfone 6 at Rs 16,899, Lenovo S850 at Rs 13,708, Microsoft Lumia 730 at Rs 14,998 and Sony Xperia SP for Rs 14,840.
ZTE Grand S II specifications include 5.5 inch multi-touch and full HD screen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a quad core CPU, 2500 mAh battery, 13 mega pixel rear camera, 5 mega pixel front camera, 2GB RAM, 16 GB storage upgradable with extra 32 GB.
ZTE beefs up customer care
ZTE has introduced Hub and Spoke customer service centers in major cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pune, Kolkata and Delhi. ZTE has approximately 300 service centers across the country and plans to expand to 600 outlets along with the growth of the smartphone business in India. Additionally, ZTE has tied up with five regional distributors with geographical focus for market expansion.

Earlier, Strategy Analytics, a market research agency, said shipments of ZTE smartphones increased 42 percent in the third quarter 2014. ZTE posted 15 percent year-on-year increase in overall global handset shipments, its fastest growth rate in over two years.
