ZTE Telecom has lined up five smartphones priced from Rs 5,799 to Rs 14,999 for its India launch.
In the initial phase of the smartphone launch, ZTE targets five major states including Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh by the end of October 2013.
ZTE would target 60 cities and towns through over 7000 touch points.
This will be the first time that ZTE will be selling ZTE branded phones in the open market in India. Till now, ZTE phones were available through OEM tie ups with telecom operators such as Reliance Communications and Idea Cellular.
Some of the latest ZTE smartphones available globally include ZTE Grand S, ZTE Grand Memo, ZTE Grand Era, ZTE Open, ZTE Grand X, ZTE Grand X LTE, ZTE Blade III, ZTE Kis III, etc.
The Chinese telecom equipment maker will also launch tablet PCs in the Indian market.
To ensure pan India presence, ZTE has tied up with Pune-based Calyx Telecommunications, a part of the Calyx Group.
Under this partnership, ZTE will provide products and post sales services and Calyx will be responsible for distribution, sales and marketing.

Last week, ZTE launched the ZTE Grand X2 In that will be available in Europe in Q3 2013 with both key operators and channel partners. The launch of Grand X2 In will strengthen ZTE’s smartphone market share and brand awareness with consumers.
