TomTom is set to launch GPS Sports Watches in India next week.
The company will be announcing its product details and strategies for India at a press meet in India.
In Q3 2014, TomTom introduced TomTom Golfer GPS watch for global markets. TomTom Golfer watch uses GPS technology to automatically recognize the golf course and to find the next hole. It also includes relevant data, such as distances to hazards and layups, from over 34,000 golf courses across the globe.
TomTom earlier said it made good progress with its sport business. It strengthened the awareness of its Cardio GPS watch and are on track with the expansion of its sports distribution network.
In April 2014, TomTom launched the Runner Cardio GPS sport watch with heart rate technology. The Runner Cardio has a built-in Heart Rate Monitor, eliminating the need for a separate chest strap. The Runner Cardio accurately measures heart rate with a Mio optical sensor, which monitors changes in blood flow by shining light through the skin.
The company is targeting to achieve revenue of between €930 million and €950 million during 2014.
Out of the total revenue, its consumer revenue for the third quarter was €154 million compared to €170 million in Q3 ’13. The decline was mainly driven by lower PND and Automotive hardware revenue, partly offset by growth in sport revenue. Automotive hardware revenue was €15 million in Q3 2014 against €19 million in Q3 2013, said TomTom.
