Samsung Galaxy Note Edge priced at Rs 64,900 in India

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge smartphone will be priced at Rs 64,900 in India. It will be available from January first week.

The device has 32GB of internal storage capacity which can be expandable to 128GB.

For comparison, the 64GB model of Apple iPhone 6 is available for Rs 61,499 at e-commerce channels in India. The 16GB version of Apple iPhone 6 Plus is priced at Rs 61,963.

Apple is selling the 32 GB model of iPhone 5S for Rs 55,000. On the other hand, Apple iPhone 5C’s 32GB model is available for Rs 38,000.

The Note Edge has curved display and is secured inside metal brackets. The left side is curved slightly as well.

The Note Edge packs a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED display with (2560 X (1440+160)) pixel resolution. It is powered by a 2.7 GHz quad core processor paired with 3GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

The flagship smartphone boasts a 16MP rear camera with Smart OIS/ Fast AF, Live HDR and 3.7MP front camera with a F1.9 lens that allows default 90 degree shooting while the Wide Selfie mode allows users to capture selfies covering angles up to 120 degrees.

The S Pen serves as the key to a Air Command functionality with features such as Action Memo, Smart Select, Image Clip and Screen Write that allows users to create and collect content.

On the connectivity front it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB. Sensor include Gesture, Accelerometer, Geo-magnetic, Gyroscope, RGB ambient light, Proximity, Barometer, Hall Sensor, Finger Scanner, UV, HRM.

The phone is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery with Adaptive Fast Charging & Quick Charge 2.0.

The company is making efforts to regain its lost market share. Samsung is yet to announce its new smartphone line up for next year, though the company announced that it will cut down phone range by 30 percent.
