Lava’s quad core smartphone priced at Rs 8,999

Lava International has launched its quad core smartphone — Iris 458q – and available for a price of Rs 8999.

This is the first time that Lava International is launching a smartphone in the quad core processor category.

Featuring a 1.2 Ghz quad core processor, Iris 458q runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system (OS) and sports a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with FWVGA resolution for Indian mobile phones users across the country.

The new quad core smartphone also has in built sensors like Proximity, Light and G Sensor.

Connectivity on 3G/ Wi-Fi / A-GPS / BT (V3.0) can be ensured.

For heavy mobile users in India, the new smartphone comes with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB using microSD storage memory cards).

Lava is offering several apps such as WeChat, Push Mail, Ebook reader with Iris 458q.

Another value addition of Iris 458q is the availability of an 8 MP rear auto-focus camera with built-in flash. In addition, the new smartphone carries a front VGA camera for 3G video calling.

The company offers 2,000-mAh battery. However, Lava is not sharing the actual battery capacity.
