In an another indication that the battle to tap budget smartphone market is intensifying, handset maker Lava International has announced the launch of Iris X1, priced at Rs 7,999.
Motorola, Micromax and few others have recently added more smartphones in the sub-Rs 10,000 range.
Motorola’s Moto E was a hit as retailers ran out of its stocks just few days after its availability. Priced at Rs 6,999, Moto E that comes with Android KitKat OS is the cheapest smartphone from Motorola’s kitty.
Micromax Canvas Music A88, Karbonn Retina A27 XOLO B700, Lenovo A390, Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo, Intex Aqua Wonder Quadcore, are some other smartphones available below Rs 10,000 range.
Lava’s Iris X1 is another addition to its X series.
Main specifications of Lava Iris X1 include 1.2 GHz quad core Broadcom BCM23550 processor, 1GB RAM, 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS (854 x 480 pixels) display, 8.9 mm thickness, 138 grams weight, 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, 1.4 µm pixel BSI+ sensor, 2.0-MP front camera and 4GB memory expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card.
