Intex targets Cloud Y12 smartphone for Indian 3G users

Priced at Rs 5,490, Cloud Y12 smartphone — from Intex Technologies — is targeted at the rapidly growing 3G market in India.

Intex Technologies today said Cloud Y12 smartphone, 3G-enabled entry level smartphone, will assist the company to make inroads into the 3G device market.

There is a strong demand for 3G phones. Overall mobile data traffic rose 92 percent in India in 2013, with 2G and 3G data traffic scaling by 66 percent and 196 percent, respectively.

The company is expecting demand from even in Tier-2 and Tier-3 regions of India, amplifying the scope for enablers like entry-level smartphones.

Main features of Intex Cloud Y12 smartphone include 1.2GHz dual core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB ROM, 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system, 10.2cm (4.0 inch) FWVGA screen and 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery.
