India’s lowest-priced Android smartphone launched at Rs 1,999

Jivi today announced the launch of Jivi JSP 20, India’s lowest-priced Android smartphone, for a price of Rs 1,999.

Android smartphone is the slimmest in 3.5” segment.

Pankaj Anand, CEO, Jivi Mobiles, said: “The launch is bound to trigger the largest conversion of feature phone users to smartphones in the country. We intend to introduce lowest-priced 3G, dual-core, quad-core and octa-core phones as well.”

Jivi is considering setting up a manufacturing facility as well in future.

Jivi JSP 20 is available exclusively on Amazon .in from today. During the 7 day pre-booking period from today users will receive a free flip cover worth Rs 499. Amazon .in shall start delivering JSP 20 from 25 September, 2014 onwards.

The dual SIM capable Jivi JSP 20 has a 3.5” (8.89 cm) full capacitive touchscreen, 320 x 480 pixels displays, 1GHz processor, Android OS platform, 2.0 MP camera with LED flash, etc.

Jivi JSP 20 supports six languages for messaging – English, French, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

It supports 2G, EDGE & GPRS and files can be exchanged through Bluetooth connectivity.

The phone comes pre-loaded with LED torch flashlight widget and shortcuts on home screen for music player, WiFi, Bluetooth, data sync and brightness. The lock screen displays messages received to enable direct access with a single touch.

The home screen also has an FM radio widget. The phone comes with a 3.5 mm universal audio jack and earphones with soft earplugs.

Its 1350 mAH Li-Ion battery lasts up to 7.5 hours even with mixed media usage.
