ASUS has been ranked number 1 in the 2014 Taiwan Global Brands value survey. This is the second consecutive time ASUS has been crowned number 1 as well as the twelfth straight year the company has been in the top-three list of international brands from Taiwan.
Now the company’s brand value is now estimated at US$1.723 billion. The awards are seen as a key indicator of the position held by Taiwanese brands in the global market.
The awards are given out based on brand value, which include the financial performance of the company, the role the brand plays in the consumer purchase decision, and the competitive strength of the brand.
“2014 has been an especially remarkable year for ASUS with the launch of ZenFone. ZenFone brings empowering luxury to everyone, and consumers have responded by making it the number-one phone in Taiwan by market share in the third quarterof this year.” said ASUS corporate vice president S.Y. Hsu
In 2014, the company launched several devices such as ZenFone, ZenWatch, and EeeBook X205.
The ZenFone had a good design and high end features as well and also featured the ASUS UI. ZenWatch on the other hand is company’s first wearable device that pairs with ZenFone as well as other Android phones.
EeePC,EeeBook X205 is an affordable 11.6-inch Windows 8.1 notebook with a full-size keyboard that has a compact, lightweight design ideal for consumers who are always on the go.
The company has also announced PadFone mini, a 4-inch smartphone that transforms into an 7-inch tablet. The device is priced at Rs 15,999.
The device supports dual SIMs. Both the 4-inch (800 x 480-pixel) and 7-inch (1280 x 800-pixel) displays use IPS+ (in-plane switching) technology for fantastically clear and sharp images.
It is powered by a Intel Atom Z2560 processor coupled with 1GB LPDDR2.
PadFone mini’s main camera couples an 8MP Sony BSI sensor with exclusive ASUS PixelMaster technology to capture digital photographs.
The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which is upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat. It also has G-sensor, E-compass and Proximity Sensor.
