Microsoft is reportedly just not giving up on Surface Phone. Earlier, reports have been surfaced online suggested that the US tech giant might dump their idea of launching a foldable device called Surface Phone. If recent reports are to be believed, company’s new patents application talks about “live hinge” which might be aimed at the company’s foldable smartphone.
The “live hinge” is said to help the device in folding and the opening of two screens, joined by a hinge. Reports suggest that it will also allow the device to rotate at 360 degrees. Considering this design, Surface Phone will be first of its kind.
Notably, in November 2016, company’s CEO, Satya Nadella has said that they want to make the “best phone ever.” Presumably, it means Microsoft is not in the hurry to launch Surface Phone. Also, there is no indication that the said device will be launch this year.
The device is likely to feature OLED display. On the OS front, it is likely to sport Andromeda. Talking about the competition, Surface Phone will rival upcoming versions iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy S-series smartphones.
