Sony and Plantronics to provide better audio for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita

In a partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), Plantronics will provide advanced audio for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.

Gregory Morquin, gaming segment manager with Plantronics, said: “We’re known for mobile, gaming and entertainment products that offer uncompromising sound, clear two-way chat, and unparalleled comfort. Offering ‘all of the above’ plus the ability to completely customize your gaming experience via the audio controller, the RIG for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita is sure to excite consumers.”

Plantronics on Monday announced the launch of the Plantronics RIG, which is a comfortable over ear headphone. The RIG performance gaming headset provides gamers with precision stereo, crystal-clear voice and three EQ profiles: Pure, Intensify and Seismic.

The mixer also boasts few interesting features as voice/audio blending, and is focused on mobile integration. There’s a second 3.5mm input so the users can plug their smartphone into the mixer, allowing them to make and take calls without taking the RIG off and pausing the game.

The users can also turn the RIG into a more outdoor-friendly headset, as the boom mic can be replaced by a 3.5mm cable with built-in mic and phone controller.

The RIG provides the best performance when used with a PlayStation. The users will get a chance to test and compare the RIG headset with other gaming headsets at Gamescom 2014 in Cologne.
