Samsung brings Nike+ Running App for Gear S

Samsung Electronics, in partnership with NIKE, today introduced the Nike+ Running App for the newly announced Samsung Gear S.

The app utilizes the new Samsung Gear S’ Bluetooth and 3G connectivity features to bring Nike’s running experience to Gear users.

Chan Woo Park, vice president of Product Strategy Team in Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics, said:  “With the Nike+ Running App, Gear S will be more attractive and fun for users to enjoy their running, while tracking runs, reaching goals and sharing with friends on their wrist.”

​The pre-loaded Nike+ Running App on the Samsung Gear S enables users to leave their phones at home and map runs and track progress.

In the midst of a workout, runners are able to view running metrics including distance, pace, heart rate, NikeFuel earned, and time, by raising their wrists. The app is equipped with a built-in music player, allowing runners to select music in a playlist with a quick tap.

Samsung Gear S’ built-in GPS allows runners to check their routes and speed.
